WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You are a passionate, reflective therapist who is looking for a private practice home where you can offer deeply attuned, evidence-based therapy while being supported by an administrative and clinical team. You enjoy working with adult individuals and/or couples, and have a particular interest in treating trauma, OCD, and/or relational challenges.

You are trained in at least one of the following approaches:

  • ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) – for OCD, health anxiety, intrusive thoughts
  • IFS (Internal Family Systems) – for trauma, identity work, perfectionism
  • EMDR – for trauma, anxiety, and attachment wounds

Experience with sex therapy or couples therapy (especially Gottman or Relational Life Therapy) is an asset.

Striving for Synergy is a therapist-founded and clinician-led psychotherapy practice in midtown Toronto, designed with care, connection, and clinical integrity at its core. We are a growing, values-driven group of therapists who believe that the wellbeing of our clients is deeply connected to the wellbeing of our clinicians. We offer evidence-based, trauma-informed care to adults and couples navigating a range of concerns, some of which include: OCD, trauma, anxiety, grief, identity exploration, and relationship challenges.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Registration in good standing with CRPO (RP) or OCSWSSW (RSW)
  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychotherapy-related discipline
  • Formal training in at least one of the following: ERP, IFS, EMDR
  • Availability for at least 10–15 in-person client hours/week
  • Must reside in Ontario and hold current professional liability insurance (minimum $2M coverage)
  • Experience working with adult individuals (couples work is an asset)
  • Commitment to inclusive, ethical, and culturally-responsive care
  • Ability to independently conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments with incoming referrals, develop an appropriate plan of intervention and deliver treatment.
  • Demonstrated comfort with collaboration and open to continuous learning and development.
  • Able to provide documented proof of degree, registration with regulatory body and appropriate and updated individual malpractice insurance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, organization and detailed electronic records.
  • Ability to uphold PHIPPA and PIPEDA along with all other relevant legislation governing the practice of psychotherapy in Ontario.
  • Comfort and experience with working online and a reliable internet connection.
